A 42-year-old man, Konku Aminu, has appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing four live turkeys and one generator.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is standing trial on a charge of stealing.
The police prosecutor, Insp Johnson Okunade, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on July 24 at Local Government Area of Igirigiri Road, in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendant stole four live turkeys and one thermocool generator valued at N70,000 belonging to one Borisade Kayode.
He said the offence contravened section 390 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.
The prosecutor asked the court for an adjournment to enable him study the case file and assemble his witnesses.
The defendant pleaded not guilty.
His counsel, Mr Timi Omotoso, urged the court to grant his client bail, promising that he would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Adesoji Adegboye, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two credible sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case till September 13 for hearing.
